Dr. Michael Feiz graduated with Highest Honors from UCLA where he completed a Bachelors of Science degree in Neuroscience and simultaneously conducted research towards a Masters thesis in Biochemistry. Dr. Feiz received his Medical Degree from New York Medical College, with Honors. He completed his internship and residency in Surgery at the world famous Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center. He continued subspecialty Fellowship training at Cedars Sinai Medical Center where he received specialized training in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery.

Dr. Elana Rackman
Physician Specialist

Elana received her B.S. in Nutrition and Health from Queens College. In 1996 she obtained her R.D. and then went on to earn her masters in Human Nutrition from Columbia University. After working for seven years as a Dietitian in New York City Elana relocated to Los Angeles, were she is currently an Administrative Dietitian at Cedar Sinai Medical. Elana has dedicated several years to understanding the complexity of nutritional health and planning for weight loss surgery patients. Elana is an integral part of our multidisciplinary approach to weight loss surgery.

Dr. Melissa Bailey Arizpe, Psy.D.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist PSY17402

Dr. Arizpe is a licensed clinical psychologist in both California and Arizona.

Trained as a Health Psychologist, Dr. Arizpe specializes in helping patients who have suffered from being over weight. She has dedicated herself to preparing patients for Weight Loss Surgery and spends a great deal of her time continuing her counseling after weight loss surgery. Dr. Arizpe performs pre-operative psychological evaluations throughout Southern California. She coordinates her care with Dr. Feiz in providing comprehensive care to weight loss surgery patients. She leads a weekly support group in Santa Ana, CA. In addition to preparing patients for embarking on their journey to a healthy slimmer life, she also provides support in helping patients adjust to their new bodies after surgery in both an individual and group therapy format. She is a member of Obesity Action Coalition and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
